Abstract:
In small towns in west central Illinois, an area with historically homogeneous population, it is commonplace to see immigrant population planting roots socially, culturally and economically.  This paper examines migration patterns in the region, the manner by which immigrants come to small towns, and if the move is permanent or temporary. Lastly, with a survey and data analysis, the paper identifies challenges facing small town planners to fully integrate the immigrants.
