Session Description: The Paleoenvironmental Change Specialty Group is sponsoring a new paper session(s) for the 2009 AAG meeting in Las Vegas, NV that focuses on high-resolution records of environmental change (Pleistocene to Holocene), especially evidence of rapid climate change, measured by various aquatic and terrestrial sediment proxies.  Insight on rates of change and how environmental systems respond are needed in order to better understand landscape dynamics and explore possible responses to future climate change. We welcome papers on all facets of environmental change from a diverse audience and encourage papers that investigate rapid climate change using traditional methods, new methods, and multi-proxy records.  If interested, please respond to Kevin M Spigel (kspigel@unity.edu) or Samantha W Kaplan (skaplan@uwsp.edu ) ASAP. The deadline for abstract submissions is November 13th. This session is co-sponsored by the Climate, Biogeography, and Geomorphology Specialty Groups.
