FOR JOB SEEKERS (Check out the TO-DO-LIST)
At the 2007 Annual Meeting, you may want to attend the following special panel sessions: (1) Career opportunity and challenges in community colleges and universities; (2) Pursuing careers in the government and non-profit organizations; (3) Taking your geographic advantage to the private sector; (4) Packaging your transferable skills with geographic edge. These four sessions are designed to provide a high-level comprehensive view of all the career opportunities for all geographers. The AAG JIG Resume Builder (Internet Explorer Only) is now online (Close Saturday 4/14/2007 Mid-night). - IMPORTANT NOTE: The online resume is optional; You don't need to submit the online resume in order to participate in JIG Center. (This simply allows recruiters a sneak preview of your qualifications and experiences.) - A few of you have reported error during the submission process. We are working on fixing it at the moment. - PLEASE make sure that you choose one of the two templates when you begin the submission process! - The resume builder will not allow you to upload a pre-existing resume (in MS Doc or PDF format). - You must first login - You must be registered for the 2007 Annual Meeting to submit your resume - Look for the fourth link on the left [Add/Edit Your Resume] to proceed If you built your Resume last year for the Chicago Annual Meeting, your Resume will include existing information for you to edit. You can come back to the Resume Builder later to make modification. A select group of professional geographers will make themselves available to talk to you in person about how they get into their professions and provide you with invaluable career advices. Unveiling of the new online AAG Career in Geography Guide will also take place during the 2007 Annual Meeting. FOR RECRUITERS If you are an employer, our Job Fair at the 2007 Annual Meeting provides you an opportunity to recruit highly qualified candidates.
